Citizen’s group in Dallas exposes truth with open records request

In 1998, the voters of Dallas, Texas voted to fund the Trinity River Project. Time passed, and $600 million was spent overbudget.

Last year, a proposal was made to install a high-speed toll road in the middle of what was supposed to be the central and crowning glory of a beautiful urban park.

Not so fast, said these community organizers.

The Dallas mayor disagreed with the community organizers.

The community organizers filed an open records request.

Through this, they have successfully established that the high-powered consultant brought in by the city didn’t think the toll road was such a great idea, either.
