Ohio: Terrorism, controversy, open records

The Franklin County Commission in Franklin County, Ohio, has come under fire from a local blogger, Patrick Poole, because of its appointment of a man named Abukar Arman to its Criminal Justice Planning Board.

The Criminal Justice Planning Board oversees the Office of Homeland Security and Justice Programs in Franklin County. It has been alleged that Mr. Arman made statements at some point in support of organizations that may (or may not) have ties to terrorism, and Mr. Arman has now stepped down from the CJPB.

Patrick Poole, the Ohio blogger at Ohio Against Terror has subsequently filed an open records request with the Franklin County Commission to see what further information he can learn about the situation.

This is all highly controversial, as we can see from another Ohio blog which writes Patrick Poole (& Ohio Rightwingers): Idiots or Racists?

The Columbus Dispatch wrote an article based on its own open records request: Investigation clears Hilliard man.
