We’re participating in Blog Action Day next Monday. So are over 8,000 other blogs. The theme of this joint blog-action day is “the environment”.
What we’ll be posting is an article on “10 Ways You Can Use Open Records to Probe Environmental Concerns”.
Of course, I haven’t actually figured out all ten yet, so if you have an idea or know of an example of a savvy way someone used open records to investigate what a local or state government agency did (or didn’t) do relating to an environmental issue, please weigh in in the comments box or send me an email.

Open Records 
I am currently running a month-long blogging campaign on environment-related matters, which had begun on Sept 15th, and will conclude on Oct 15th in conjunction with Blog Action Day. Here’s a blogger that tracks environmental developments in New Mexico: High Desert Reports. It looks like one of the techniques she uses is following public meetings announcements to make sure she is up to date. So, one “Way You Can Use Open Records to Probe Environmental Concerns” is tracking (and attending!) open meetings.
