Former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann has presented his former office with a records request for all the correspondence he was involved in when he presided over the office. The request has been described as “a monster”.
Here’s what Dann asked for:
- Expense records.
- Copies of all news clippings related to him or the office’s accomplishments.
- All of the “talking points and speeches that I delivered.”
Last summer, we discussed here the big story in Ohio about the intern for the Ohio Republican Party who filed a records request with all the five statewide constitutional offices in Ohio (including the AG’s office) for six months of e-mail.
Dann was one of the first to criticize that effort saying it “was so overly broad that it was not a legitimate request.” The intern’s request still hasn’t been filled.
Several of the leading daily newspapers in Ohio editorially criticized the intern for her request.
